Martin and members
Dave who owns the yard contacted me on the 6th with regard to the bales of wood. He as kindly offered to lift them to the bonfire with the fork lift on his jcb.
I will be down at the field mid morning today to help him put the bales in place. Anybody care to join me will be most welcome.
Regards
John
I do not intend to use all the bales for the fire. Any member with a log burner may take what they want from the remaining bales. But please keep it as tidy as possible.

Saturday 8th November 2014

It is the club Guy Fawkes Fun Fly and bonfire today.

Unfortunately the weather forecast is not looking good, with the prospect of some heavy rain and strong winds.

Irrespective of the weather the bonfire and fireworks will go ahead from around 4.30pm onwards.

I will be down at the field from around 10.00am to set things up for the bonfire.

If we are lucky and the rain keeps away, I will do the fun fly events, as per the time schedule below:

1. 1200 to 1300 Free Flying.

2. 1300 to 1430 ETA Event & Free Flying.

3. 1430 to 1600 Fixed Wing Rolls & Loops & Helicopter Flips Events.

4. 1600 onwards Free Flying & Night Flying.

5. 1700 to 1900 Bonfire Lit, Food Served, Night Flying & Fireworks.

We hope to light the bonfire and start serving the food between 4.45pm and 5.15pm and hopefully start the fireworks between 5.45pm and 6.00pm.

If it is dry, I will try to fit in, a spot of night flying too.

The latest forecast suggests the rain may dry up by late afternoon (let’s hope it does).

Hope to see everyone there for the bonfire. If everyone who has indicated they are coming, turns up (I hope they do as I have ordered all the food- 55 pies and 40 potatoes), we should have around 80 people present at the field.

Martin.

Thank you to everyone who helped set up the bonfire and assisted on the day.

Thank you to members, their friends and family who turned up on the evening and made in my view, a successful event.

The flying was restricted during the afternoon due to the weather, but it did clear up in the end, for the fire, food, fireworks and a spot of night flying.

Martin.
