The Dewsbury & District Model Aero Club is 51 years old this year (2017).
The club was formed in September 1966.
We are holding a Fly In and Open Day on
Sunday 17th September 2017 (11.00am start),at our Sands Lane,Flying Field,to celebrate this anniversary.
The day will conclude at 5.00pm.
Tea and Coffee making facilities, will be available in the club cabin, throughout the day.
The event will be run on a safe, but informal basis with some ad-hoc fun flying events, for people to try, during the day.
We are hoping to generate some press interest, to publicise the club and promote safe flying in general. The club fixed wing training aircraft, will be available, to allow any interested parties to have a try at our hobby.
Members of the public are welcome to come along and see how we operate. We can offer help and advice, on most aspects of model flying and can point out your legal obligations (especially in relation to multi rotor aircraft/drones), if you want to learn to fly model aircraft.
Any old club members, would be most welcome to join us, to see how things have changed and progressed.
No aircraft over 7kgs, no turbines. Noise limit of 82 decibels. BMFA insurance required.
Any updates will be placed on the club forum, including nearer the time, confirmation the event is going ahead, or cancellation details, should we have to postpone the event, due to any adverse weather conditions.
If you require any more details, please feel free to contact me (details below).
